Site-specific Art

“the landscape was artificial, it did something for me that art had never done. At first I didn’t know what it was, but its effect was to liberate me from many of the views I had had about art. It seemed that there had been a reality there that  did not have any expression in art.”

Agua de Luz

Agua de Luz (Light of Water) is one of James Turrell's site-specific works of art secluded in the heart of Yucatan. It was conceived as a cosmological piece to connect the realms of heaven with the sacred waters of the underworld, or, in the words of J. Turrell, a portal to spiritual dimensions. This is an exceptional site-art where his most intimate and elevated vision makes you experience the physical presence of light.

Tecoh

Tecoh was conceived with the mission to create a place where the boundaries of art, architecture, history, and nature would dissolve. Within the ruins of the 16th-century hacienda, Jorge Pardo created an exemplary site-specific work of art with an outstanding understanding of history, nature, and form. Inhabit a place where volume meets texture, color becomes light, and livable objects invite you to contemplate.
